"The Bible is even more amazing that I thought--I keep getting 'blown away' by the dove-tailing of events throughout the Word that are the fingerprints of God's precious plan. I learned so much about the customs of the time: the meaning of Ruth lying at Boaz' feet, uncovering his feet; the meaning of handing someone your sandal; the whole concept of kinsman redeemer; the incredible forshadowing, the type of Christ. I could go on with the cities of refuge, etc. This class on Ruth was like puzzle pieces falling into place in a way that is impossible without "intelligent Design!" Even though I know that, having it proved over and over is a thrill to me. It makes my foundation all the more firm. The proof over and over adds layer on layer of strength to my faith, like a fine pearl. It is strength through knowledge of the Word. Each study helps me get out of my own way and allows Him to work more easily. I fine there is less resistance in the midst of the trials and an instant turning to Him in Prayer." V.B.

"I learned that the book of Ruth has so much more meaning than I ever knew. I never related the book to our Kinsman Redeemer (Christ) and all of what that means.
My Kinsman Redeemer knows everything that is going on in my life and I can trust Him.
He has given Israel the land for a possession and He will ensure they have what He has promised, because He is faithful, just and true. This is comforting to me, as the world is in such turmoil, to know that He is in control no matter how it looks to us." D.M.

1. As an archetype for Jesus, the way that Boaz gently and lovingly treats Ruth and recognizes her hard work as a person is touching. The way Jesus views and treats us, especially when we do not deserve it, just melts my heart and causes me to fall even more in love with Him.

2. I am struck by how wonderfully God plans everything. All things are indeed under His control. Even the seemingly little details --from which field Ruth chose to glean in, to who Boaz's mother is. Boaz would have intimately understood and empathised with what it meant to be an outsider. R.Y.
